Polly Douse is a Tennessee native. She completed her Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling Master’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in December of 2021. She spent August 2020 through December of 2021, as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern at Trevecca Nazarene’s Counseling Center.
Polly is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, a member of the American Counseling Association, a member of the international honor society, Chi Sigma Iota Theta Nu Chapter, and a member of the Junior League of Nashville.
Certifications
Polly earned the emotionally focused individual therapy level one certificate from Dr. Sue Johnson and Dr. Leanne Campbell with ICEEFT, International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. Polly is also a certified facilitator with Prepare/Enrich for couples.
A little bit more about Polly
Prior to pursuing a career in therapy, Polly earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Sewanee: the University of the South with a minor in History. Polly enjoys traveling. In addition to residing in Tennessee she previously lived in Sweden, California, and New Orleans. She has a cornucopia of career experience in writing, communications, marketing, fashion, and editing.
Polly is honored to walk alongside adult individuals, and couples as they process the unpredictable terrain of life. She is passionate about holding a sacred space for clients to feel safe, seen, and heard. She finds emotionally focused individual therapy, narrative therapy, and internal family systems therapy fascinating and potentially helpful for facilitating growth.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, painting, and spending time with her husband, Chris, and their two children.
